The current I'd created here
is ever a concealed farce,
an irony incarnate
formed to draw out the
poison I can't live without.
I remember the dancing,
blistered smiles atop
chapped spirits,
masks to veil
the darkness her
warm steps belie.
I remember laughing,
parallel tears to the
fire I soar into praying
to feel the memories
there.
this womb is hallowed,
bittersweet home
to elicit the birth
of fear.
